About Me

I’m a photographer based in Burlington, Ontario. I consider myself lucky to live here, as the Halton region has unlimited areas to shoot. I’m just a short trip away from a beautiful skyline, waterway or countryside.

I focus my photography on family and individual portraits, city and landscapes and I have delved into corporate and architectural projects. Images are available to purchase in various sizes and mediums including paper, canvas and digital.

Please contact me for information on shoots, commissioned work, or to discuss ideas or needs.

I look forward to working with you.

Richard

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we wear?2019-08-10T04:00:00+00:00

It goes without saying that most of us prefer to look good when having our pictures taken. Here are a few tips for a good time in front of the camera:

Plan the Wardrobe
Choose the clothing you’re going to wear a few days in advance, making sure everything is both clean and ironed. Don’t forget to choose clean footwear, as well. Keep it simple – it is best when clothing colours are narrowed down to 3 or 4 choices – this allows for differences between the subjects but avoids everyone matching too much. Try to keep to solid colours or very little pattern if possible – this keeps the focus on the subjects. Limit the amount of visible brands and logos as well.

Kids
The less “stuff” on their outfits gives them less to play with. Avoid clothing with ribbons, bows, googly-eyes, etc. Comfortable clothes make for less-cranky children…albeit for a short amount of time. Colour is great. The bolder, the better.

Adults
Ditch the tuxedo but don’t wear flip-flops, unless this is the look you’re going for. Somewhere in the middle and you’ll do well.

What are “Incidentals”?2019-08-10T03:59:41+00:00

Incidentals are additional costs above and beyond the price of a session. Examples would include taxes, the purchase of necessary permits to shoot at specific locales, shipping, etc.
Please Note: outside of taxes, not all sessions necessarily require additional costs.

Well, what else do you do?2019-08-10T03:59:16+00:00

I’m glad you asked! I have included corporate individual & group portraits, events and architectural sessions. Pricing for these sessions are customized for each client’s needs. If this is something you or your organization would be interested in doing, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Do you have a studio? Where do you shoot?2019-08-10T03:58:53+00:00

I have a mobile studio, which keep costs and (more importantly) prices down. Sessions can take place in your home, place of work, or outdoor area that allows (with permission from the proper channels) for photo shoots. I have a great list of venues that work well throughout the year and I’m sure we’ll be able to find something to your liking.

Would you photograph a wedding?2019-08-10T03:58:25+00:00

I sometimes receive requests to photograph weddings. I’ll admit, it is very tempting but right now my official response is “No”.
Well, let’s say “Not just yet”. As many can attest, my Monday to Friday schedule is hectic. With a young family, I simply cannot commit to individual shoots that last all-day and into the evening.
Eventually, this will change.
